Engage: community or culture
“Therefore he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and with the Gentile worshippers,
and in the marketplace daily with those who happened to be there”  Acts 17:17
The Bible depicts believers as “Salt and Light,” as Vessels and as Living Epistles, but is
this limited to Sunday morning?  How do we engage culture and convey a Christian world view
into our communities?
I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.

Engage Idea!
At VITM, we decided to have an "I Love My Church Campaign" We sold packs that included a tshirt, buttons, bumper stickers, and yard signs. This campaign gave our congregation a new and exciting way to witness. We helped empower our people to go and engage their community by showing their love for their church!
We had the following information on our church website:

I LOVE MY CHURCH CAMPAIGN 2011 is for the purpose of getting the message out to your community about how much you love your church. Your co-workers, neighbors, friends and family need to know how important your church family is to your life.

Take time out during the next several weeks to send cards, letters, and emails expressing the importance of the local church. Let them know all the ways from the nursery to children’s ministry to teen ministry and to the many other avenues how your church continues to impact you and your family’s life. We also encourage you to let your church leadership know the strength, wisdom, and encouragement they bring to your life.

In the times we live in, the world needs to hear that there is still a thriving strong tower that each believer can run to for safety. The words “I LOVE MY CHURCH” needs to rise above all the negativity individuals and families navigate through on a daily basis. Your co-workers, neighbors, friends, and family need to know that the love for your church is a direct result of the love you receive from God through your church every day.

What a great message to help bring hope to the hopeless, strength to the weary, and joy to those that mourn. Let’s get the word out.

Pastor Church has shown this same tenacity and passion in confronting current issues that affect families by bringing together a group of pastors who work with law enforcement and citizens. I believe that if all the pastors in Ohio were like Pastor Church, we would have an army that Satan could not stop. He understands that America is led by the pulpit and we count on him to unite fellow pastors and their congregations to be the salt and light we so desperately need in the world today. Ohio and America continues to reap the benefits of Pastor JC Church’s leadership, vision and action.
